I have a Macbook pro for which I want an upgrade SSD drive. Is it possible?
Macbook Pro 2011,2012 and 2013 comes with a Hard-disk and not with a SSD Drive. However, these system can be upgraded to 256 GB,512 GB or 1TB of SSD drive. You need to create a recovery Drive to back up all your data. Subsequently, you will have to open up the Macbook Pro and install the new SSD Drive and than boot up the machine with the recovery Drive created earlier. A detailed explanation can be seen in the video below.
Macbook Pro 2016,2017 and 2018 already comes with a SSD Drive. Also, according to Apple, you can’t upgrade the Macbook Pro to a upgraded SSD Drive. All the components in the latest Macbook Pros are soldered and we cannot take out the SSD and install a new SSD.
